The following policies have been established to provide the most effective and creative teaching possible.
All students must enroll online at www.praypiano.mymusicstaff.com. Once you enroll, an account will be created for you with My Music Staff. You will have access to the studio calendar, invoices, online payments and more.
Each fall and spring semester consists of 15 private lessons. A weekly time slot is reserved for each student. Students are expected to attend lessons regularly. There are no credits, refunds or make-ups for missed lessons. The studio will close for major holidays and professional conferences. The full calendar will be posted to My Music Staff at the beginning of each semester. Summer lessons are encouraged but are not required.
Tuition is billed by the semester. Fall semester tuition is due August 1st; Spring semester tuition is due December 1st. Invoices will be e-mailed on the first of each month that payment is due. A $15 late fee will be applied to accounts not paid by the tenth of the month. Cash, online payments, and checks (payable to Laura Pray) are accepted. The annual enrollment fee includes books, materials, recitals, awards, incentives and supplies. Tuition and enrollment fees are non-refundable. Rates may increase each year by 1-3%.

Regular practice is imperative to learn how to play the piano proficiently. Students are expected to establish and maintain a consistent, daily practice routine and complete each week's assignment. Each student will have access to Tonara, a music practice platform that will allow the student to view their assignments and communicate with the teacher between lessons. All students must have an acoustic or digital piano. Digital pianos should have 88 weighted keys, a bench and a pedal.
By enrolling in the studio, students are committing to lessons and payment for the entire semester. There are no refunds for early withdrawal. Should you decide to discontinue lessons at the end of the semester, please notify the studio 30 days in advance. Regrettably, students will be dismissed if any of these circumstances occur: failure to pay tuition on time; persistent absences; uncooperative attitude; failure to follow practice assignments as instructed; lack of progress due to insufficient practice.
